A 20-member French educational delegation visits Pakistan

 

14th March, 2017:  A 20-member delegation comprising representatives of French universities and research institutes is undertaking an official visit to Pakistan today to further strengthen the exiting bilateral ties between the two countries in the field of higher education.

During its weeklong visit to Pakistan, the French delegation comprising of representatives of reputable universities, business and engineering schools, public institutions and research institutes will hold meetings with its Pakistani counterparts to build and further expand linkages between the educational institutes of both the countries. The delegation will also meet representatives of Pakistan-France Alumni Network (PFAN).

During the visit, the delegation is scheduled to attend a seminar titled “France Day in Pakistan” at the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. The Seminar would provide an opportunity to the French delegation to interact with their Pakistani counterparts and as well as showcase French higher education system to the Pakistani students.

A similar delegation of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and representatives of Pakistani universities visited France in June, 2016 to celebrate “Pakistan Day” at Campus France in Paris. During the said visit, a Memorandum of Understanding between HEC and Campus France was also signed to facilitate linkages and cooperation between the educational institutes of both countries.

Over 600 Pakistan students are presently studying in various disciplines in French institutes of higher learning.

Pakistani women are playing constructive role for development and prosperity of the country.

 

Paris, 8th March, 2017:  In Pakistan, women are playing an important and constructive role for the development and prosperity of the country.

This was stated by the Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque during inauguration ceremony of a photographic exhibition of Pakistani artists Mr. Imran Y Choudhry and Mr. Bilal Javaid, held in Town Hall of Paris, today.

The exhibition titled “Glimpses of Women’s Life”, held to commemorate International Day of Women was also witnessed by Ms. Josaine Gaude, Deputy Mayor of Paris 7.

While taking on the occasion, the Ambassador said that women of Pakistan have accomplished great successes in the fields of business, science & technology, education, health, film-making and politics. They have held high positions in government and also in various international organizations.

He further noted that government has taken a number legislative and administrative reforms for socio-economic uplift and safeguarding the rights of women.

The Ambassador also appreciated Pakistani artists for their efforts to commemorate International Women Day in a befitting manner. Large number of visitors who witnessed the exhibition appreciated the work of the artists.

Pakistan, France to Deepen Bilateral Relations by Parliamentary Exchanges

 

Paris 1st March, 2017:    Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani has called for further strengthening of the bilateral relations between France and Pakistan through parliamentary exchanges and by boosting cooperation in diversified fields.

This was stated by the Chairman Senate during his meeting with French Senator Mr. Pascal Allizard, President, Pakistan-France Friendship Group in the Senate of France and Ms. Francoise Cartron, Vice President of Senate, who called on him at the Embassy of Pakistan in Paris, today. Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Senator Mohammad Mohsin Raza, Secretary Senate Mr. Amjad Pervez Malik and Ambassador of Pakistan Moin ul Haque were also present during the meeting.

While emphasizing the importance of regular interaction between the parliamentarians of the two countries for building a better understanding he also underlined the need to further strengthen existing level of bilateral cooperation especially in the areas of trade, investment and security.

Senators Allizard and senator Cartron, who were part of the French Senate delegation which visited Pakistan in April last year, expressed solidarity with Pakistan in the wake of recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan and offered condolences to the aggrieved families.

The two sides also discussed ways and means to enhance mutual cooperation between the Senates of Pakistan and France.

The meeting was held during a stopover in Pairs by the parliamentary delegation led by Chairman Senate on return from their official visit to Cuba.
