Pakistan Festival 2017

Pakistan Community is all set to celebrate 70th Anniversary of the Pakistan’s Independence this August. Community has resolved to organize a Pakistani Festival at Sarcelles a town near Paris to commemorate the event. The Festival will be held on 26th August, 2017. All community members are requested to come forward and play their role in making the festival a resounding success.

The Embassy of Pakistan to France is appreciative of Circle K2 a dynamic club of young Pakistani professionals and students for joining hands with the Embassy in its efforts to promote Pakistan in France.

A large number of Circle K2 members participated in the first ever Youth Convention held at the Embassy and contributed to its success.

The Ambassador briefed them about Pakistan-France relations and the Embassy initiative “Celebrating Pakistan” for promoting soft image of Pakistan in France.

Before the Convention, Circle K2 organized their Third Annual Seminar in which presentations on “Smart Cities” and ‘Financial Crises” were made for the benefit of the audience.

79th Death Anniversary of Dr. Allama Iqbal to be Observed in Paris

Embassy of Pakistan to France is organizing a conference on the theme,  “Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam by Dr. Allama Iqbal a Case Study” to observe the 79th death Anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the poet and philosopher of the East in collaboration with Algiers Culture Centre in Paris France on 20th April, 2017

The detail is as follows:

  1. Opening Address by the Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque  at  7.00 pm
  2. Paper by Mr. Karim Ifrak, a researcher, historian and specialist on  Muslim World at French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) on the theme “Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam by Allama Iqbal, a Case Study”.
  3. Refreshment
  4. An evening with Subhan Ahmed and Nizami Qawwals

Respectable members of Pakistani Community are requested to kindly attend the event in large number to make it a success.

 

Updated Advisory (December 2016): Harassing calls claiming to be from the Embassy

The Embassy of Pakistan, Paris has received some complaints about malicious telephone calls harassing members of the Pakistani Community.
Another instance has also come to our notice where our Community Members receive calls [textblock style=”2″]Aapparently from the numbers of their family members / relatives” and are conveyed that the concerned person has been detained / apprehended etc.[/textblock]

The Embassy of Pakistan, assures all members of the Community that such malicious and obnoxious calls are not being made from the Embassy Staff. We have taken up the matter with the concerned authorities for necessary remedial measures. In this regard, following actions are suggested:

[ulist style="2"]In case such a call is received, immediately call back on the Embassy exchange for verification and registration of your complaint.
 If you receive a call from a number "apparently belonging to a family member" call them back on their number to verify the call.  The Embassy of Pakistan, Paris has already launched the complaint with Service Provider and the authorities concerned.  We regret the inconvenience faced by our Community members and assure that the Embassy remains available at your service for all matters. [/ulist]

Machine Readable Passport (MRP)

According to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Manual / Hand written passport (Non-MRP) will phase out with effect from 30 September 2016.  Foreign governments may deny visa or entry to persons travelling on manual passports after 30 September 2016.

All members of the community are requested to immediately apply for Machine Readable Passport (MRP) to avoid any inconvenience.

Grievance Commissioner Cell for Overseas Pakistanis

  The Office of the Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan, has established the Grievance Commissioner Cell for Overseas Pakistanis in Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for Overseas Pakistanis under Section (7) of the Federal Ombudsman Institutional Reforms Act, 2013, to address the invidual and systematic issues of the Overseas Pakistanis related to the Federal Goverment Ministries, Departments, Organizations and Agencies.
